Care Instructions.

Art is precious and is seen as an investment. Archival inks and fine art paper are designed to last a long time without fading. They are often used for museum and gallery exhibitions, so you can expect your fine art print to last a lifetime if it is correctly cared for. The same goes with any original piece.

All Originals are created with archival materials and high quality paper. Ink can also last for many centuries if looked after and originals that come with gold leafing is all 100% 21c gold leaf. Originals are generally framed in UV protected and reflection less glass by a professional framer.

All Prints are Giclée and Archival quality, specific prints will have hand applied gold style leafing

Prints - CARE AND HANDLING

Giclée prints should be cared for in the same way as an original piece of art. Anything that could damage the paper should be avoided when you are handling your print (such as dirt, dust, oils, solvents, heat, abrasives etc.). Taking your print directly to the framers is recommended, however if you are farming from home:

  1. Use clean, dry hands at all times to handle your print

  2. Hold your giclée print only at the very edges of the paper

  3. Prepare a clean, smooth, hard surface for flattening your print if its larger the A2

  4. Take care when removing the print from the protective packaging

  5. If rolled, unroll the print image facing down with the tissue paper

  6. Weight your print down with clean, smooth heavy objects, let it relax overnight (at least) before handling

  7. Select a study glass frame ideally with UV protected glass

  8. Once framed, avoid displaying in direct sunlight. This can cause condensation and damage the print.

Originals - CARE AND HANDLING

Original art is precious and is an investment. Extreme care should be taken when handling original art. Framing from home should be avoided and seeking professional framing services is recommended. If you piece is already framed, here are some instructions on where to hang and how to clean the glass and frame

  1. Remove frame and art from packaging carefully, framed work will be sent with tape on the glass incase damaged via transit. Removed carefully, no residue should be left.

  2. Choose a spot that isn’t in direct sunlight

  3. Hang from a study structure ie. nail or hanging hooks, avoid using 3M stick on hooks

  4. You can hang from the D-rings or from the wire

  5. Once hung, it’s recommended to dust or clean you frame and glass every two - three months.

  6. With a non abrasive, microfibre cloth gently remove any excess dust on the glass and the top of the frame

  7. To clean the glass, lightly spray a glass cleaning fluid that doesn't contain any ammonia, onto a clean, micro fiber cloth, never directly onto the glass.

  8. Gently clean it and dry it with another micro fiber cloth. If the glass has a UV coating, be especially careful that the cloth has no grit on it, as it can scratch easily.

Now your framed work will look sparkly and new.
